Our Story

Hotel Villa San Ignacio is near SJO – Juan Santamaría International Airport. One of Costa Rica's best boutique airport hotels, defined by its décor and open layout in nature, the hotel setting accommodates guests with a truly romantic and relaxing experience.


Hotel Villa San Ignacio has unique easy access to downtown Alajuela and SJO, yet seven acres of verdant urban-forest surround the hotel. Mid-century, a botanist owned and lived on this property and planted the grounds that now team with wild-flowers, fruit trees, and the butterflies and birds they invite.

“I guided two groups from Buffalo, NY USA totaling 20 people. The two groups stayed their first nights in Costa Rica and I spent 4 nights here in between tours. I enjoyed every minute of this beautiful space! The pool area is relaxing, clean and comfortable. Every single staff member that I had contact with was kind and professional, always smiling and accommodating! The restaurant/food was excellent - I would highly recommend the Rosemary Chicken, the mixed seafood traditional rice dish, hummus appetizer and the Aztec soup was absolutely one of the best soups I’ve ever had! Hands down! Cocktails poolside made for lovely afternoons. The staff was extremely helpful and assisted my group with many requests...with a smile every time!”"
